A Player’s Thought - past, present & future.….
Welcome to the tom davies website. Having successfully completed the PGA foundation degree this year I have now made the decision to concentrate on my playing. I have been working in a pro shop and also teaching on a regular basis to fund my playing costs whilst completing my PGA qualification and with a number of tournament successes at regional and national levels, I feel that the experience I have gained over the past 3 years has set me in good stead to now play on a full time basis.
Having missed out on the opportunity to enter the qualifying school for the European Tour this year due to injury, my main aim now is to enter the qualifying school for the Asian Tour and obtain a tour card.
I feel that previous tournament successes are a strong indication of my ability and dedication, and I always strive for improvement. I am now in a position where I can commit most of my time to practice and tournament play, however it is not financially viable to enter all preferred events at this stage.
The Asian Golf Tour
Golf is Asia has taken some giant strides in recent years with the development of the Asian Golf Tour. The game of golf in Asia has taken on a new and more professional face that presents sponsors, countries and most of all the golfing public with a professional golf tour that brings together the best the world has to offer in the most exciting region in the world.
2006 saw 32 events and over $ 23 million USD in prize money. This is incredible growth in the past few years.
SPONSORSHIP PACKAGES: The total sum required is estimated at £3,500. This estimated amount is for costs incurred for entering the qualifying school for the Asian tour. My aim is to sell shares with a view to raising this required amount initially. I will then aim to raise further funds for the season depending on results at tour school.
